What we will not do

This holds real people's romantic data. The rules below are constraints on the product, not features we might trade away later.

A one-sided pick reaches nobody it is about

Not the person you picked, and not another student — there is no screen, counter or hint anywhere in the app that shows it. The only event that produces a notification is a mutual match.

One operator can read picks

Being straight with you: the person who runs maheblr can see who picked whom on an internal screen, including picks that were never returned. Nobody else can — not other students, not the person you picked. If that is not a risk you want to take, do not pick anyone. We would rather tell you now than have you find out later.

Only verified students get in

The student list stays hidden until you have opened a link sent to a learner.manipal.edu inbox, so nobody outside MIT Bengaluru sees it at all. And the list itself is the whole college cohort, not a sign-up sheet — so browsing it never tells you who has or has not joined maheblr. That is nobody's business, including yours.

One pick a week

This is a safety feature, not just a rule. Testing ten people to see who reacts would take ten weeks — and still tell you nothing.

Login links are single-use

Stored hashed, expire in 30 minutes, and are destroyed the moment they are used. A forwarded link is already dead.

Deleting means deleting

Delete your account from Settings and every pick you made, every pick pointed at you, and every match goes with it in the same operation.

The list is everyone, not the members

The student list is the college's own cohort roll — every student at MIT Bengaluru is on it whether they use maheblr or not. That is what makes it safe to show: reading it tells you nothing about who signed up here. Only a name, a section and which list you are on was taken from it.

Being picked contacts nobody

A pick aimed at someone without an account is a name and a section, held privately. They are never emailed, never told, and never added to the roster by it.

Your name is pinned to your email

Your address has to start with your first name, at signup and on every profile edit. Nobody can register under your name to collect picks meant for you.

A shared name is never guessed

If more than one person in a section answers to the name typed, the pick is refused or left waiting rather than attached to whichever of them is handy.

Something wrong? Tell us.

Someone using another student's name, an account that should not exist, anything that feels off — email noreply@maheblr.fun and we will look at it. Include enough detail that we can find the account.
